The Oregon Women Project
Three Plays in development: LITTLE GUN, THE STILL HUNT, and BIRDSONG
LITTLE GUN, A Tragedy of the American West
On the Oregon frontier, Swiss immigrant Mary Leonard stands trial for her life. Accused of killing her tyrannical husband, she does the unthinkable—teaching herself American law to mount her own defense. What begins as an act of survival becomes a radical confrontation with a legal system in a territory where women are denied the vote, yet bound to obey the law.

Darleen Ortega, Oregon Arts Watch: “This play deserves a full production, and the Oregon theater that finds a way to make that happen will have a gem on its hands.” Click on Darleen’s name for a full review.
