What's Her Story?

Ms. Overman is a Pacific Northwest native, recently returned after spending many years in New York and San Francisco. After receiving an MFA in Acting from the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theatre, she has enjoyed a career in writing, producing, and acting in theatre, film, and commercials.

Sarah began exploring the idea of creating and producing her own work during her final year at the U of M, and after years of acting in the Bay Area she met the creative team at Dramahaus in New York, and co- produced her first play, a full Equity production of HER MAJESTY THE KING at HERE in Soho.

Continuing to write for the stage, she landed a Creative Services position at Saatchi & Saatchi NYC where she specialized in producing voice overs for radio commercials and managed the creative team for the Toyota Group.  Over the years she's had various other producing roles in corporate marketing departments.  She also spent four years as a Casting Director at Nancy Hayes Casting in San Francisco where she cast many independent films, shorts, and commercials, national and otherwise.  While in the Bay Area, she formed the production company Shortpants Pictures to produce and direct the web version of her play AFTERGLOW which was developed while in NYC with New York Theatre Workshop.
